Yesterday, I mentioned that I watched a movie over the weekend, and in that movie, I learned about Type 3 Diabetes.
Well, the movie had so much information that I really wanted to share it with all of you! There is a lot of valuable information here.
The name of the movie is Carb-Loaded: A Culture Dying to Eat. I think that is a great title, because people are really dying from what they eat, and it is getting more and more common.
The movie is a little over an hour, so it is a long watch, but I feel it is very worthwhile if you have the time!
So, what do you think? Did you take away anything new from the movie?
I didn’t get a chance to watch, but my 2 cents says that the USDA food pyramid is upside down.
Hi Michael – That food pyramid is, in my opinion, just a way to promote sales in the processed food industry. I know, based on my own experience, that the foods they promote are very unhealthy!
I think the “pyramid” is truly a pyramid scheme! Designed to profit the food manufacturers!
I don’t remember if I ever told you this story, Bob. I was seeing the dietician one time, looked up and pointed at the food pyramid poster hanging on the wall, and asked her, “Was this based on scientific research or did somebody pull it out of his butt?” Her answer, “Somebody pulled it out of his butt.”
A carb load.
That sounds about right to me Scott Ruffinen.
John, the article is not really about carb loading. Nor is the movie.
I’m pretty sure John meant that the food pyramid is a carb load (of crap.) We’ve known each other for a couple of decades so I’m qualified to translate. ๐
I see, Scott. His comment was not really put in any context, so I was very unsure of what he was talking about. Sorry about that.
No problem! We’re a pair of comedians. Sometimes we fail.
Scott is right on all counts. Never thought that base of bread was a good idea.
Sorry, the comment was very unspecific, so I misinterpreted it.
